- The president that has inspired me the most is Barack Obama. He has defied the odds. Barack is the first African-American president. He is a strong and courageous leader that will hopefully lead this country in the right direction. I have actually got to shake his hand when he was running for Senate so I thought that that was really neat. On of my favorite quotes that he said when he first took office on January 20th, 2009 was "I found this national debt, doubled, wrapped in a big bow waiting for me as I stepped into the Oval Office."
